How is my favorite Mr. Darcy?
Yeah he has gained a bit of weight but Colin Firth will forever be a major hottie in my eyes. He is the epitome of a classy English gentlemen.
Colin is currently at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival premiering his film, Genova today. In this film he plays Joe, a father of two recently widowed who tries to start a new life in the Italian town of Genova.
Genova will hit U.S. theaters November 7th.

You can tell from his face that he has gained a bit. I personally don’t care because I think he’s lovely…just as he is!
Since you used “girth” in the title here, I assumed you meant around his body, i.e., the circumference. Colin has a tendency toward jowliness, which certain camera angles highlight, and age isn’t helping. However, he’s still quite trim, as some other pictures from an event less than two weeks ago showed, but not as thin as was apparent for A Single Man filming.
Yeah the jacket is what is making him look a bit heavier.
BTW, Genova has not distribution date in the US. The Nov 7th date shown at IMDB was for a screening at the American Film Market back in 2008.

Colin Firth is sexy and gorgeous no matter what the weight! Afterall, he is in his late forties and supposedly taking sometime off, so give the guy a break. Mr. Darcy lives in our hearts irrespective of girth.
I have adored Colin since I saw him in Pride and Prejudice. He is a wonderful actor and a terrific human being, intelligent, insightful and utterly charming. I don’t care if he gains 100 lbs, he will always be Mr. Darcy to me.
Just came back from seeing him on set of ‘Main Street’ in NC and he’s sleek and slim as ever, wearing jeans for most of the scenes I saw being filmed.
I got to know Colin Firth because of his Mr Darcy. Yesterday I watched “A Single Man” three times, and I’m still breathless. Beautiful man, great actor!
