Freida Pinto is receiving a proper welcome into the limelight with allegations of being a cold-hearted snake!

The 24-year-old actress is rumored to have broken up with longtime boyfriend of four years Rohan Antao after hitting it big in the award winning film Slumdog Millionaire. The two met while studying at St. Xavier’s College together.

“Friends” of the actress are claiming that Freida tied the knot with the Mumbai based marketing executive in December 2007 in Goa (Rohan Antao’s hometown) and had kept it secret because Bollywood actresses that are single land better roles than those that are married.  He is said to have helped launch her career by running her website and handling her publicity.

The friend told The Daily Telegraph: “Freida and Rohan fell in love at college and were extremely close. They were great together. The marriage was an impulsive decision and both of them went to a designer to get the gown made.

“Rohan was with her throughout her years as an actress when she was not at all famous. He supported her during the filming of Slumdog and the pair even celebrated the film’s success at the Toronto Film Festival together last year.

However, she just stopped calling him around the time of the Golden Globes awards, when the film started to make waves internationally. He is completely shocked at being dumped and is heartbroken.”

When Rohan was questioned about the alleged marriage he did not deny that it existed but he did decline to talk about it.  It is said that “he is not the kind who will go out and speak against her.”

Freida’s Indian agent, Meenakshi Gehani had this to say:

“We do not want to comment on this matter. However, if she is married then whoever is claiming it should produce a marriage certificate.”

Ultimately will it matter to anyone (except Rohan of course) if this story is true? Will it affect her new status as an up-and-coming award winning actress? Probably not but it’s still kinda messed up!
