Hannah Montana, not Miley, arrives at the Oscars!

mileyoscars4

Thanks to the Disney/ABC conglomerate, it seems as if Miley Cyrus came in character to the Oscars tonight, or brushed on some Elmer’s glue and jumped into a pool of Swarovski crystals after throwing on the dress she wore to the Oscars. If it were closer to Halloween, I’d say she was dressing up as a white Christmas tree! It’s not so much the dress, I think, but maybe the person wearing it. I think this illuminated number was a bit much for someone her age. She didn’t really fill out the dress. It’s almost as if she went into her mom’s closet and grabbed the most elaborate dress she thought would be suitable for the Oscars. Try again next year. Hannah Montana in a bad dress at the Oscars? The worst of both worlds.

Slumdog Millionaire wins BIG at the Oscars

OSCARS/

Big winner of the night: Slumdog Millionaire!

It’s official, Slumdog Millionaire is the Best Movie of the Year! The film which took home eight awards including best picture, and best director for Danny Boyle.

Once Director Danny Boyle stopped jumping up and down he dedicated his award to Winnie-the-Pooh?

“My kids are too old to remember this now but when they were much younger, I swore to them if this miracle ever happened, I would receive it in the spirit of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh,” he told the Academy audience.

“You have been so generous to us this evening. Thank you for that. And what a beautiful show you’ve done.”

My favorite thing about tonight’s Oscar’s was to see the big smiles permanently affixed to the faces of the children who starred in the film. They deserved to be there! I heard they ran up to Daniel Craig to get his autograph.

I really hope to hear success stories for each and everyone of them.

Robert Pattinson is a shy guy!

rpatz1 Robert Pattinson can suck on my neck any day of the week!

Twilight
star Robert Pattinson has won me over. I admit to not having read the Stephanie Meyer books or even to watching the film.   I did notice him when he played the role of Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter flicks but he was still too young.

But seeing his shy side emerge this evening while presenting with Mamma Mia star Amanda Seyfried was very endearing.

Maybe I will have to pick up Twilight on DVD.

Mickey Rourke hearts Loki

mickeyoscars2Mickey Rourke has totally won me over.  I have not even seen The Wrestler but I hope he wins so he can dedicate it to his precious dog Loki who passed away six days ago.  The actor was wearing a Jean Paul Gautier suit with a special necklace that holds a picture of his beloved dog whom he had for 18 years.

“She’s the love of my life. She made it until six days ago. She left me at a time where after 18 years she knew I’d be alright,” said Rourke
“It’s bittersweet. I said to myself I’d rather have Loki for another two years than an Oscar. And I told her that. But she stayed as long as she could you know,” he added.

So sweet, he has my vote!

Penelope Cruz: She bangs she bangs!

peneloposcars1Are you feeling Penelope Cruz and her bangs?  Yeah me either.

Penelope Cruz is up for Best Supporting actress at the 81st Annual Academy Awards for her role in the Woody Allen film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

UPDATE: Penelope Cruz wins for her role as Maria Elena in Vicky Cristina Barcelona!  Congrats!

SJP: Oscar’s Milkmaid

sjposcars3Is Sarah Jessica Parker pregnant or is she wearing a mega push-up bra?  I have never seen tiny little SJP with her cups overflowing.  This is not natural.  Love the dress but not feeling the hair.

Oh yeah, Matthew Broderick was there too.

Freida Pinto & Dev Patel are totally doing it!

freida3

Slumdog Millionaire actors Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have been inseparable since they started promoting their movie. They can deny it all they want but you can see that little glimmer in her eyes when they ask her if they are together.

After Freida’s divorce is final I’m sure they will let the rest of us in on their secret.

Slumdog Millionaire is up for Oscars in 9 categories.  I hope they win Best Picture, I want to see all the little kids on stage!
