NEW YORK – There won’t be any awkward Chris Brown moment at the Kids’ Choice Awards – the embattled pop star has withdrawn his name from the ballot.
Brown had been nominated for favorite male singer and favorite song for “Kiss Kiss” at the March 28 awards show on Nickelodeon.
The nominations came shortly before his arrest for allegedly attacking girlfriend and fellow pop star Rihanna.
A petition had been circulated to take his name off the ballot, but Nickelodeon said yesterday he was still on.
On Wednesday, Brown decided to take his name out of consideration.
This severely disappoints me. Why did Nickelodeon even give HIM the choice to withdraw his name? The minute Chris Brown and felony were in the same sentence they should’ve completely distanced themselves from him and this whole situation. This hasn’t been Nickelodeon’s only lapse of judgement. They continue to show episodes of Jamie Lynn Spears’ tv show Zoey 101, even after her teen, out-of-wedlock pregnancy. Nickelodeon continues to show lack of judgement and values, which is sadly consistent with the rest of Hollywood.

You need a life. LOL @ teen-out-of-wedlock-pregnancy. Just like half of America? Give it a rest.
lol Jonny is the Conservative one in this operation. But he is allowed his opinion!
Really? Half of America? I would say that I ‘d like to see where you pulled that statistic from, but it was probably the same place you have you head stuck. What do you expect when Hollywood and the music industry parades morally corrupt individuals as role models for our children? What do we do when artists like the Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks try to portray themselves in an exemplary way ? We ridicule them and chastise them for trying to send the message to kids that irresponsible parents don’t.
kids doesn’t like chris brown anymore….heheh
