Hugh Laurie visited Regis & Kelly this morning to continue promotions for his latest movie, Monsters vs. Aliens. Does anyone else wish Hugh would use his English accent when he plays Dr. House?
He chats about his father who was an Olympian, his role in Band from T.V., falling into acting after being ill with Mono, his 5 season on House, and his role as Dr. Cockroach M.D. in Monsters vs. Aliens.

I desperately wish they would let Hugh Laurie use his British accent in the show House. I really enjoyed the accent. At least we get to hear it in his interviews. I suggested to the writers that he could use his British accent since there is a syndrome called Foreign accent syndrome, which is usually caused by some type of brain trauma (which House must have). I think about these things way too much since I am in the medical field. Oh well.

I’m so glad someone agrees with me! Also, I had never heard of Foreign accent syndrome!! That must be what Madonna et al suffer from! You know, those celebrities who move to say England and magically end up with an accent.
I think its great that you suggested this to the writers. House would be great with that sexy accent!
