George Lopez brings Latino’s to late night!

admphotos379805-george-lopez

Comedian George Lopez is getting his own late night tv show on TBS! Lopez hopes to appeal to a younger audience and have not-so-typical guests. The former sitcom star created a pilot with Eva Longoria Parker, Dane Cook and Samuel L. Jackson. Lopez sat audience members near the stage, and let them ask questions.

“I’m a pretty visible Mexican-American guy who has managed to cross over,” said Lopez, who had a six-year run with his own self-titled ABC sitcom. “I’m not a singer. I’m not Antonio Banderas. I’m a guy who came up the hard way on the street, and I speak to people who have the same life story.”

The not-yet-titled show will be produced by George and Jim Paratore who has worked on The Ellen Degeneres Show and The Bonnie Hunt Show. The show will air Monday through Thursday at 11 pm/ET on TBS, beginning in November 2009.

Congrats hermano!

Zac footloose in Paris!

fp_2027253_ang_efron_car_032409

High School Musical star Zac Efron has decided that he won’t be doing another musical, at least  for now.  He has withdrawn from playing the lead role in the remake of the 80′s Kevin Bacon film-Footloose. Little Zac is trying to evolve into more adult roles.

Paramount Pictures would not confirm the reason why Zac has withdrawn from the film.

Footloose is a project we’ve longed to see re-booted for a new generation. While Zac is no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of Kenny Ortega, Neil Meron and Craig Zaden, who will reinvigorate the franchise. Their fresh take on the film will undoubtedly be filled with the same kind of breakout performances that we’ve come to expect from them.”

Zac is currently promoting his new film 17 Again in Paris.

Hugh Laurie visits Letterman

Hugh Laurie @ The Premiere of 'Monsters VS. Aliens' 3/22/09

Hugh Laurie visited with the newly married David Letterman last night to promote his new movie, Monsters vs. Aliens. He chats about his New York experiences, getting an O.B.E., meeting the Queen of England and his thoughts to proposition her, and his role as Dr. Cockroach in his new movie.

Is it just me or does anyone hate that Letterman rarely seems educated on his guests?  A bit clueless really.

Monsters vs. Aliens hits theaters this Friday.

Peek-a-boo!

Haiii Hayden!  We see you trying to hide behind co-star Masi Oka!  The duo headed to Mozza Pizza in Hollywood for lunch today.  Speaking of pizza, I was watching Masi during his appearance on The Bonnie Hunt show on Friday where he shares a hilarious story about the first time he ever ate pizza in America.

He also talks about how difficult it is to date when all his information is so easily available on the internet, his stand-up comedy/musical background, and how his fans receive him when he arrives to his native country of Japan.

Don’t forget to watch Heroes tonight on NBC!
