Madonna has been denied a 2nd adoption from Malawi. The pop star returned to the same orphanage where her son David Banda was adopted from in hopes of adopting a girl named Mercy James. Madge has come under scrutiny by many over the adoption due to what people consider “special treatment” for her celebrity status.
“Anyone could come to Malawi and quickly arrange for an adoption that might have grave consequences on the very children that the law seeks to protect,” said Judge Esimie Chombo in her ruling.
Madonna’s lawyer Alan Chinula, said she would lodge an appeal with the Supreme Court on Friday.
