Spotted: Ali Larter
Heroes hottie Ali Larter attended the Los Angeles premiere of the HBO movie Grey Gardens last night. Next up for the sexy blond is her movie alongside Beyonce Knowles entitled, Obsessed.
She recently spoke to the Tulane University Newspaper about what attracted her to the role of Lisa Sheridan in Obsessed.
The first thing that attracted me was the idea of getting a chance to play a femme fatale. The movies that I loved were Barbara Stanwyck in “Double Indemnity” and Rita Hayworth in “Gilda.” The real classic femme fatales are one of the reasons I always wanted to get into this business. And this movie is really a kiss more to that kind of sexy- thriller genre of Rebecca De Mornay in “Hand that Rocks the Cradle,” and “Fatal Attraction.” So getting the chance to play that really delicious female villain was my first draw. And then, I found out that Idris Elba was doing it. I have so much respect for him. He was incredible playing Stringer Bell on “The Wire.” And Beyoncé, who I think is just an incredible talent.
She also shares how the training she has from working on Heroes helped her with her fight scene with Beyonce.
We do a lot of physical stuff on “Heroes,” and it seems that I always end up getting in some kind of fight in whatever role I’m playing. We start off with getting the best stunt doubles that we can find, and I have an amazing girl that I work with. But the other side is that I like to do as much as I can. I think that you can really tell when the actor is in there, so we spent about a week really breaking it down, and we just had fun. It was like, “You hit twice.” “Well, I’m going to hit you three times,” and we just really had joy in it. And, for me, watching Beyoncé charge you is one of my favorite moments, so I really hope that comes across on the screen that people really see that we tried to make it so it’s believable and not fall into all the clichés and deliver what the movie promises to deliver.
Obsessed hits theaters April 24th.
