Legendary music producer Phil Spector has been found guilty of murder in the 2nd degree of 40-year-old actress Lana Clarkson in his mansion six years ago. After nine days of deliberations, a Los Angeles Superior Court jury concluded that Spector killed the actress, on Feb. 3, 2003, just hours after they met in the Sunset Strip club where she worked as a hostess.
This was Spector’s second trial, during the first trial the jury was deadlocked 10-2. In California jury verdicts must be unanimous. He did not testify at either trial and showed little emotion when the verdict was read. He was taken into custody immediately after the verdict.
He will probably spend the rest of his life in prison.
