Channing Tatum for 3rd Twilight movie?

80317a1_tatum_c_b_gr_02

Channing Tatum fans rejoice! The actor is currently being considered for an upcoming role in the 3rd installment of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse.

“There’s a very big battle at the end with Riley, and I think Channing would do that so well,” Twilight and New Moon screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who is currently writing the Eclipse script, told E! News this weekend at the Los Angeles Times Book Festival benefit for the Writers Guild Foundation.

“And there are some complexities to that character,” she adds. “He really is tragic. He’s a puppet for Victoria [bad-girl vampire played by Rachelle Lefevre]. So he has to break your heart a little bit at the end when he realizes that she doesn’t want him. Channing could do that beautifully.”

I love how they cast hot guys for the bad guy roles! But then I get so sad when they kill them off like James (Cam Gigandet) in Twilight!

Do you want to see Channing Tatum in Eclipse?

Sean Paul returns!

Where ya been Sean Paul? Though I don’t understand half the things he says, I love this guy! On Friday he announced he will release his first album in three years, “Imperial Blaze,” on August 18 through VP/Atlantic Records.

But you don’t have to wait until then. If you head on over to his official website you can check out his new single, So Fine. Must be an autobiographical song! ;)

My Virgin Ears 04.27.09, Pop edition

The-Dream & Mariah Carey

I’m trying to crunch out this posting on Mondays thanks to Twitter’s #MusicMonday, but it isn’t quite happening yet. I’m sure you missed my posts the past couple of weeks, but Spring Break got a bit of an extension. Here are this week’s new releases! Remember to click on the tracks to review and leave your own comments!

Lady GaGa, LoveGame

  • Without a doubt, Just Dance was catchy and a huge first hit for LG, but I couldn’t get into Poker Face and considering how quickly it’s disappearing from the radio, you couldn’t either. LoveGame has got a promising beat, but never delivers. Considering the audience that is usually attracted to her music, the lyrics aren’t really appropriate for the kiddies either, but then again that’s been the case with the whole album.

Taylor Swift, You Belong With Me

  • Taylor Swift tip-toes into the Pop world with a song that I can only assume she recorded on a country album first. It’s a pretty safe song to run with and certainly will appeal to her current and new audience she’ll find on Pop radio. It’s a sweet song about the girl-next-door type making her case against Ms. Popularity. I think she crossed over a long time ago without having to sell out to her country roots. Jessica Simpson better be taking notes.

Jeremih, Birthday Sex

  • If the title alone didn’t clue you in on how awful this song would be, let me save you the trouble. The only way anyone could pull off a song like this would be if their name was R. Kelly or… R. KELLY. That’s it. No one else pulls off an intentionally stupid and overtly sexual song as he does, and for a very good reason. To avoid from other idiots like Jeremih  from putting out crap like this.

Seether, Careless Whisper

  • How do you make a really cheesy 80′s song from a really gay lead singer cool again? Throw the straightest and one of the hottest alternative groups out there right now to do a cover on it. If one of your radio stations aren’t playing this song, start calling to get people fired. It’s a great song, and certainly not an easy one to cover.

Ashley Tisdale,  It’s Alright, It’s OK

  • Trying to keep riding that High School Musical wave, Ashley Tisdale has this new single out which has obviously been torn from the Kelly Clarkson School of Songwriting. Amazingly enough, it’s not on Disney’s record label, which after hearing this track may have been a good move for Ashley. As long as she holds on to some decent songwriters, she can certainly earn a little cash on the side from this gig.

Kristinia Debarge,  Goodbye

  • Yes, it’s spelled Kristinia and yes, she’s THAT DeBarge. Although if you clicked the song before reading any of this, you might think it’s a new track from Rihanna. Nowadays with all the post-production that goes into pop music, it’s tough to tell if these girls have any actual talent. Being that she’s a DeBarge, let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. Let’s see, releasing a song with a sports anthem for a hook = free publicity. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before the NBA or NHL use it in one of their broadcasts much like I predicted the same use of Kevin Rudolf’s song some months ago. The kiddies will like this song, but it doesn’t have much of a shelf life.

Rob Thomas,  Her Diamonds

  • Rob Thomas must eat musical instruments for breakfast, because he craps out songs like it’s nobody’s business! Although if I were married to his wife, I might have something to sing about too. Here’s another feel-good song with what starts out as a pretty new sound for RT, but then glides into his hit-making safety zone with his pop-rock signature sound. Nothing memorable here, but a good song nonetheless.

The-Dream, Walking On The Moon (f. Kanye West)

  • When I first saw that I’d be reviewing a song by The Dream, I was hating life thinking that P. Diddy’s failed attempt at an all white girl group was trying to make a comeback. Fortunately for me, I was VERY wrong. The-Dream we’re listening to here seems to be quite talented, having written songs for B2K, J. Holiday, and Chris Brown. Like the featured artist on this track, Kanye West, it seems as if it was only a matter of time before The-Dream got behind the mic. This song has a very reminiscent sound of the early 80′s Michael Jackson tracks and even fits Kanye in real nicely with a pretty smooth delivery. It’s a chill track and fun to listen to.

Russell Brand joines Drop Dead Fred remake!

90412m1_brand_b_gr_03

Its official, Hollywood has run out of story ideas! Universal has announced plans to remake, Drop Dead Fred. The only good bit is that they’ve signed on Russell Brand to star in it.

In 1991 original starred Phoebe Cates as a wallflower who loses her job and husband during the course of a lunch hour. Forced to live back home, she’s reunited with her childhood imaginary friend (Brit actor Rik Mayall), who promises to help but causes more havoc.  Russy will be playing the role of the trouble making pal.

The writer who brought Land of the Lost, Dennis McNicholas, is writing this remake.

Brand is also set to star in the remake of Arthur.

Chris Noth will return for Sex and the City sequel!

noth1

Sex and the City fans can breathe a sigh of relief! Chris Noth a.k.a. Mr. Big HAS signed on for the highly anticipated SATC sequel! Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed the good news to E! News.

But that was about all she was saying. I love how the girls say they don’t know anything yet but at the very least SJP knows!

“I don’t know anything yet,” she said at the Wonderful World premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this evening.

One more bit of good news, remember Gilles Marini in the first movie? Rumor has it he may be coming back too!!

“I don’t have a clue,” Parker said. “I don’t know anything specific about a story for him, but it’s very possible.”

More naked Marini please!!

Melissa Rycroft Injured!

No one is safe from injury on Dancing with the Stars!

The latest victim is Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft who was injured during rehearsal.  She had to miss this evenings show while in the hospital. Her doctor says she is suffering from a hairline rib fracture.

“”I hurt my ribs last week doing a difficult move. It was feeling better and then I hurt myself again,” she said. “I felt a blinding pain shoot down my side, so we decided it would be best to go actually have a doctor check it out.”

After eight weeks in the competition Melissa and her partner Tony Dovolani were scored on their recorded rehearsal performance and earned 21 out of 30 points this evening for their jive.

A rep expects to see her back in the game tomorrow.

“She received treatment today for her ribs, and there were complications,” a show rep told E! News. “She’s resting, and we expect her back here tomorrow.”

Earlier this season Steve-O was also judged on a rehearsal performance when he also got hurt.  Last week Melissa and Tony had the highest score.

Get better soon girl!
