It looked very real, im sure it was, maybe BRUNO planned it, and Eminem didnt know, thats why the cameras were on him.
i feel as though it was staged. eminem is getting into acting, he has openly said so in recent interviews, and i have had to sit through award shows before and it isn’t fun. a lot of attention was on eminem, he performed early, and i know that he didn’t want to sit there for the next few hours. so i see it only fitting to spark up some controversy between him and bruno as a) an excuse for him to bail and b) controversy and eminem are synonymous.
however, if he was not in on the joke that is really messed up. a lot of viewers only tuned in tonight to see his performance, fact. and, they did this to nirvana 15 years ago, mtv has a way of manipulating artists so their ratings go up. it is likely they put eminem in that position to get a reaction and have people online talking about it. that’s fucked up to do to eminem, who has been so grateful to mtv. he promoted the hell out of these awards so that is a triple slap in the face to him, if he was unaware. but knowing how the industry works… i am pretty sure he was cool with it, even though his reactions beg to differ, and was stoked to use it as a reason to bail all the while maintaining his “i just don’t give a fuck” credibility.
It’s MTV!!! EM had a new CD out, and Bruno is about to come out…WAKE UP! IT WAS STAGED!!! But still pretty funny…

If you look bruno keeps his arm out to fall upside down and then ”accidentally” falls on eminem…so he deffinatly had to stage it but idk if eminem staged it…either it was real or hes a really good actor..
It was set up between Em, Sacha, & MTv before the show, while Em was doing his sound check. Sacha was there checking the rigging overhead and met Em who wasn’t assigned to even sit there.
The stunt was suppose to be that “Bruno” dropped down and ended up sitting on Em’s lap but as we all know now that’s not what happened.
That’s why the cameras were right there and “caught” the whole thing on tape.
So yes and no… It was real and it was staged, the expression and anger from Em was without a doubt real, but the entire setup (minus the nuts in Em’s face) was staged.
How do I know this? Because I was and still am… Working backstage.

Who would really let a guy fall on them. If I saw someone about to fall on me, I would push him away. Eminem stayed still and totally let him fall on him. The original east coast version shows Eminem’s true reaction…HE WAS PISSED. My theory is that he agreed to it for the promotion and all, but he didn’t know that it was going to be bare a-ss.
