Keanu Reeves: Please shave!

I love you Keanu Reeves but this beard is getting a bit out of control. I don’t want to hurt your feelings because you are one of my favorite actors but you don’t even keep it tidy!
A beard can look nice on a man, Adrian Pasdar and Zachary Quinto have both maintained nice looking facial hair. Well that is before Zach decided to give himself Quintostache but that is a whole other story.
This “wild” look needs to be tamed. While you’re at it, get a new hat.

I knew you guys were gonna get a little annoyed with me about the commentary but seriously I do not mind a beard. Its just the state of the beard that I don’t like. Its over grown! If he would tidy it up a bit I’d be all for it again!

I think Keanu is the most handsome man in the world and I do like him with a beard but I agree with Rosy. He has it so long and too bushy now. When he has his trimmed beard, he looks incredibly handsome but when he has it like this, he looks like he doesn’t care about personal hygiene. I know that sounds harsh but I’m being honest. We are his fans so we accept his ways, but what would a stranger think if they didn’t know who Keanu was? They would see the long hair, unruly beard and grungy clothes and think he was a bum. I still think he’s the most gorgeous man underneath all that scruff but I can’t help but wish he would shave it off when I see his beard at this stage. I feel bad that others, especially the media and haters pick on him because of it. I’ve read comments like he has a “Brillo Pad” on his face or dead animal on his face. I defend him against the haters but deep down I get mad that Keanu doesn’t care to keep his beard at least well-groomed. I just wish he’d care more…he is a public figure afterall and you would think he’d want to give a better impression of himself. If I were a director and saw an actor that presented himself like Keanu looks or an actor that presented himself like George Clooney(who always looks well-groomed even on his own time), I would definately pick the actor that presented himself like Clooney. This doesn’t mean I love Keanu any less, I’m just disappointed in his low self esteem that he doesn’t care to present himslef better.
Thanks Rosy, for you comment. Everyone is entitiled to their oppinion and I’m glad a Keanu fan can be honest and point out Keanu faults in a loving, lighthearted way.
I couldn’t have said it better myself Patty. That is exactly the point I was trying to make with my post. I love Keanu but I wish he would just tidy up a bit.

I love the bum look, he’s natural and approachable. It also makes you think he might be sweet and romantic, in a simple non fancy way. I don’t know if that’s true though. Life has made him a bit tough.
I wonder if the beard and more relaxed attitude is his way of keeping his authentic self alive and well in the world of plastic people in the Hollywood machine? This may seem like an alter ego to the public, but I think it’s more like the real him. Thgat’s my guess.
This look is easy and comfortable and it’s one that isn’t plastered all over his movie posters. It’s a look that says he doesn’t have to perform today. He can simply ‘be’, you know? He has the same right to relax, including his Hollywood image, as anyone else does. We can’t imagine what it’s like to live in the microscope he lives under!
Keanu, if it makes you happy, do it!! We aren’t dressing our absolute best every single day of the year, either. You’re being yourself and letting the chips fall. I applaud that heartily!! Those of us who like seeing you all spiffy will enjoy that look on film. Off camera it’s your choice and your life. We respect that. It’s all good ;.)
I love Keanu too, but I agree with Patty. He should care about his look.

I THINK KEANU LOOKS GORGEOUS JUST THE WAY HE IS BEARD OR NO BEARD! HE’S IS AMAZING IN EVERYTHING HE DOES AND I JUST WOULD DIE IF I SAW HIM ON THE STREET WITH HIS BEARD!!!! GOSH HE’S A REAL MAN!!!
