Russell Crowe is a generous guy

Yes Russell Crowe is a major star who brings in major box office bucks but he also likes to give back. The Aussie actor, who is currently in the United Kingdom filming Robin Hood, stopped by a Cancer Research Center in West London this week where he made a nice donation.

A volunteer told The Daily Star: “We couldn’t believe it when Russell Crowe came in and gave us the money.”

“We had been hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

“We were all a bit star-struck but it was lovely to meet him and he stopped and had a bit of a chat with us.”

Though the amount is undisclosed, I’m sure the money is greatly appreciated.

On the Scene: The Mentalist

Simon Baker, Owain Yeoman, and Tim Kang were busy on the “Suicide Bridge” in Pasadena, California filming scenes of the CBS hit The Mentalist earlier today.

The bridge is rumored to be haunted by the souls who have committed suicide on the bridge. They have been seen walking around and heard making sounds but it doesn’t seem like these boys were bothered one bit.

Season 2 of The Mentalist returns to tv on September 24th.

Shia Labeouf is a handy guy!

You’d imagine someone like Shia Lebeouf would have someone to go shopping for him, but apparently he is a do-it-yourself guy! The Transformers actor was spotted picking up supplies at Auto Zone and Ace Hardware earlier today.

Next movie for Shia is the Oliver Stone drama, Money Never Sleeps.

Knepper upgraded to Heroes regular!

robert_knepper

Former Prison Break actor Robert Knepper has been upgraded to from “guest star” to series “regular” on Heroes! I’m so excited about this because I can tell he is going to bring some much needed evil into the show.

Here is the scoop:

Knepper’s character Samuel is at the center of the major new story line on the sci-fi series. He is the charismatic but evil Earth-moving ringleader of a traveling carnival who recruits people with special powers for a mysterious purpose.

Knepper originally signed for six episodes and so far has appeared in every episode of the show’s upcoming fourth season. Knepper, who recently joined the cast of “Heroes” for the series’ panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, follows in the footsteps of another baddie on the show, Zachary Quinto (Sylar), who also started off as a recurring before becoming one of the show’s breakout stars.

Maybe Knepper will be the one to “off” Danko!

Dave Matthews took a turn on Letterman’s hot seat last night to promote his new album Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King.

He chats about his twin daughters favorite word, an anecdote about his 2-year-old son, the album and how it earned its title, and to close up the show the Dave Matthews Band performs “Why I Am.”

So few pictures came out of Comic Con of Milo Ventimiglia, Adrian Pasdar and Zachary Quito that I was starting to think they might have been there via satellite! I was extremely glad to come across these gorgeous shots of Milo from Saturday.
