Russell Brand: A Lover and a Scholar

Russell Reads

He’s not just a ladies man. He’s also an avid reader and always keen to learn something new. Russell Brand was back in London today, and was spotted leaving his Hampstead home, carrying a dog-eared paperback.  Russell’s reading material turned out to be a 1967 book by R.D. Laing titled The Politics of Experience and The Bird of Paradise, which deals with the weighty topics of conformity, alienation, and the waste of human potential.  Not only does Russell often work literary references into his stand-up comedy, but he’s also in the midst of filming a documentary about the pursuit of happiness, which is due sometime next year. Thank you, Russell, for stimulating our brains as well as our eyes and, ahem, other body parts.
