Johnny Depp surprised the crowd who attended Spike TV’s “SCREAM 2009!” held at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles last night. The Pirates of the Caribbean star presented the “Rock Immortal Award” to Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

“I liked the living legend, that was all right, but immortal is even better,” Richards said in an interview before accepting the honor.

Johnny loves doing these little surprise appearances that drive his fans into a frenzy! He dressed up a squirrel costume as he walked around so as not to be mobbed as soon as he was recognized.

I’ve got my tickets for Comic Con 2010 and you can bet I’m going to be walking around suspect of anyone dressed as a cuddly critter!

Walked around dressed in a squirrel outfit…is this true? Rosey, how did you find out?
