It’s official – Brit comedian Ricky Gervais will be the host of the next Golden Globes ceremony, which will be broadcast on January 17, 2010. This marks the first time since 1995 that the awards show has had a host for the live broadcast. Gervais, who’s currently getting rave reviews for his film The Invention of Lying, has won three Globes of his own in the past. He’s also developed a reputation for adding some of the liveliest moments to any awards telecast that he’s been a part of. Remember his hilarious exchange with Steve Carrell on the Emmys a couple years back? Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us on the Globes!
