Charlize Theron is in a bit of hot water this morning. The actress auctioned off a meeting with former South African President Nelson Mandela as part of a package during a charity auction in San Francisco on October 22nd. His office released a statement claiming the actress never put in a request.
A meeting with Mr Mandela required “a rigorous process”, the foundation said.
“Not even the charity foundations Mandela himself established are allowed to auction off time with him,” the NMF’s Chief Executive Achmat Dangor Dangor said in a statement.
The South African beauty auctioned off a package which included World Cup tickets, a safari and a meet-and-greet with the 91-year-old anti-apartheid icon. She even sweetened the pot by adding a kiss to the highest bidder. The winner paid $140,000.00 for the prize and claimed her 20-second kiss from the actress.
By the looks of it, i doubt the winner wanted more than that big ol’ smooch with Theron!
