Although the The Twilight Saga movies are not filmed there, they are all set in the small coastal town of Forks, Washington. Since the release of the books, and even more so the release of the first film last November, tourism in Forks has gone from nearly non-existent to teen girl heaven.
Twi-tourists can take guided Twilight tours, visit the real Forks High School, see the “Home of the Swans,” grab a “Bella Burger” at Sully’s Burgers, and even stop in the Twilight Lounge which features events and concerts for fans. But soon, there will be a new crowd in town… The Volturi! Gasp!
According to The Peninsula Daily, Annette and Tim Root will soon be opening a restaurant called Volterra. They’ve already applied for their liquor license and are excited to open this new family restaurant.
Really? Family style? In the world of Twilight, Volterra, Italy is home to the Volturi. These guys are to the vampire world, what the Gambino’s are to the mafia world. Maybe a little nicer, but not much. They aren’t the benevolent vegetarians that the Cullen’s are. They have no problem killing humans. So I’m just not sure how comfortable people would be eating there. Sure, normal humans would enjoy a nice Italian cuisine with a little vampire theme. BUT, we’re talking about people who ask the local Chamber of Commerce, in all sincerity, whether camping in the area is safe. You know, because of that vampire/werewolf problem…
