Bryan Greenberg is making it in America

FP_3889362_ANG_Greenberg_Bryan_102609

Ever since I saw Bryan Greenberg in Prime I was left wanting more! His role in Bride Wars was so small that I’m glad he is going to be a lead in the upcoming HBO comedy, How to Make it in America.

The show is centered around three ambitious 20-somethings who hustle their way through New York City determined to achieve the “American Dream.” The cast they have is in place is A-MA-ZING! It includes rappper Kid Cudi, Lake Bell, Victor Rasuk, and Shannyn Sossaman. Cudi was interviewed during the summer and spoke about his new character, Domingo Dean.

“It was important to me early on to branch away from music and actually do something outside my comfort zone. When we were developing my character with the writers, I was telling them, ‘Man, I don’t want to be anything that has to do with music,’ just because that’s not really acting.”

The show is Executive Produced by Mark Wahlberg’s production company, Closest to the Hole (also responsible for Entourage) and Julian Farino who has a few episodes of Sex and the City, The Office, and Entourage under his belt will be directing.

Greenberg is GORGEOUS and I am very excited to see this show!

Ricky Gervais to Host Golden Globes

ricky_gervais_gta4

It’s official – Brit comedian Ricky Gervais will be the host of the next Golden Globes ceremony, which will be broadcast on January 17, 2010. This marks the first time since 1995 that the awards show has had a host for the live broadcast. Gervais, who’s currently getting rave reviews for his film The Invention of Lying, has won three Globes of his own in the past.  He’s also developed a reputation for adding some of the liveliest moments to any awards telecast that he’s been a part of.  Remember his hilarious exchange with Steve Carrell on the Emmys a couple years back?  Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us on the Globes!

Inception filming continues in Los Angeles

Filming of Inception continued Los Angeles International Airport with three of its biggest stars, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe and Ellen Page yesterday. I’m loving the men rocking these suits in this Christopher Nolan action thriller.

Leo stars as a CEO-type who becomes involved in a blackmailing scandal.

The film will hit theaters and IMAX on July 16, 2010.

On the Scene: Julia Roberts & Javier Bardem

Filming of Eat, Pray, Love was in full force yesterday. Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem were photographed frolicking in Indonesian waters yesterday. Roberts, who is sporting a green and white bikini in the scene struggled to keep her top from slipping in the crashing waves.

Shooting has not been easy in Bali, residents from the mountain town of Ubud claimed they had been paid less for the use of their land than other locals. The royal prince of Ubud, and chief of Ubud Village, Tjok Raka Kertiyasa released a statement to Australian newspapers.

“Villagers do not understand why some people are getting paid more than the entire village, which has so far been given 10million rupiah (roughly $1,500) collectively,” Tjok Raka said.

“It’s about rights, not greediness,” he told the paper. “As the head of the community, I have been invited to share my wisdom with both sides, not just with the community.

Colombia Pictures resolved the issues and security was beefed up.

Morrissey on the Mend

Morrissey at Coachella 2009

Legendary British singer Morrissey is recovering after collapsing on stage on Saturday night and being briefly hospitalized. He was performing a concert in Swindon, west of London, when he fell ill and was unable to continue the show after only one song.

No further details of his condition have been released, but he is reportedly resting at home and hopes to complete the rest of his tour dates, including the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday.

Talk show host Jonathan Ross is a friend of Morrissey’s and has been updating fans about his condition via Twitter, like this post from yesterday:  I am sending flowers to Moz this afternoon, and cupcakes! Will update re health and tour-dates as and when. Peace out.

Hope you’re feeling like yourself again soon, Moz!

Ashley Greene loses herself at Paramount

Ashley Greene was on the Paramount lot today, looking a little bit lost. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse actress just wrapped filming this weekend, she’s hosting a Halloween party with fellow vampire Kellan Lutz this coming weekend in Las Vegas, and I’m sure she has lots of press coming up for November 20th release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. A full plate for this girl, so I wonder what she’s planning there at Paramount??

It’s OK Ashley, getting lost isn’t so bad. I’ve been to Paramount and it can be confusing! But aren’t you still at the gate?? By the way, your hair looks great!  Are those extensions? I’m pretty sure your hair was short just a few days ago. Like, just two days ago at the airport. Longer is better I think, but cute either way.
