Boxing great, Mike Tyson was arrested yesterday, on allegations of assaulting a member of the paparazzi at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Allegedly, Tyson was in line at the ticket counter when Tony Echevarria, an over zealous photographer managed to creep a little too close for his liking. Iron Mike then preceded to punch the photographer in the face, leaving not only his ego bruised, but also a laceration to his head. The photographer was taken to the local hospital, while the boxing champ received a first class escort to the local sheriff’s office.
Tyson says that the photographer actually struck him first, so he retaliated out of self-defense, as well as protection of his daughter who was traveling with him. And of course, the photographer disputes that he in no way provoked Tyson, he merely got agitated at him, grabbed his camera, and tagged him in the face.
Which side makes most sense to you?
I believe it is safe to say that Mike Tyson isn’t exactly a model for self control. Between his multiple altercations outside the ring and the day he got hungry enough to try out Evander Holyfield’s ear, I think we have come to expect pretty much anything from the retired heavyweight champ.
