Rumor has it that Legendary U.K. greats, The Who, have received the nod and will be performing during the coveted Super Bowl XLIV halftime show.  The Super Bowl committee continues the old school artist trend, seeing as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Prince have all played the halftime show in the last few years. I assume they figured they had to step it up after the whole J.T. and Janet Jackson debacle.

The Who have not performed in the states since 2008, and what better way to be welcomed back then by playing the during the most viewed event of the year? Although Sports Illustrated has confirmed the performance, the NFL has still yet to release a public statement.
