Foreign singing sensation Agnes Carlsson won the Swedish equivalent of American Idol while only 17 years of age, and now at age 21, she has already managed 3 hit albums, as well as 6 top 10 singles in Europe.
With a somewhat reserved, yet refreshingly bubbly and innocent persona, her music in many ways is defined by that of her personality. Her strong, angelic voice which slightly mirrors that of Leona Lewis, is undeniably unforgettable. Barring Carrie Underwood, I honestly do not think that American Idol has produced a talent such as Miss Carlsson.
Already hit single “Release Me” continues to gain popularity not only in Europe, but also in the States. With over 3 million youtube views and 250,000 downloads, the song has jumped to number 1 atop itunes in the U.K. Next up for the Swedish beauty is her highly anticipated album “Dance Pop Love,” which Agnes says describes her musical style to a tee. The record will be released internationally in the near future.
