Vin Diesel pops up in Paris!
Vin Diesel emerged in a slick looking suit and tie to attend a meeting at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris today. The action star, who is friends with President of the Dominic Republic Leonel Fernández, was there in support of his bid for help for Latin American countries to spread their culture through new technologies and avoid what he called “a widening digital divide.”
Diesel started the One Race Global Film Foundation who’s focus is “fostering the growth of diverse national and international voices in under-served communities within the global entertainment industry”. By providing education and training in film, video and new media production, the organization provides students with hands-on experience in writing, producing, directing and acting.
Through the foundation young filmmakers learn every facet of the film making process – from a story’s inception to completion. In partnership with New York University and the government of the Dominican Republic, the Foundation has already served over 500 aspiring filmmakers and graduated more than 80 students who have produced over 25 short films during their tenure.
