Cristiano Ronaldo wins big in Madrid
It was a big night for soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo! He attended the 3rd Annual As del Deporte 2009 Awards photocall at City Hall on December 3, 2009 in Madrid, Spain.
The Real Madrid player accepted top honors Grammy Award Winning singer Alejandro Sanz. He is the first foreigner to ever take home this accolade.
“It is an honor to be the first foreigner to win this award,” said Ronaldo, “but it couldn’t have happened without team work.”
“I do not feel any added pressure,” for being the most expensive signing ever,” he added, “the President was correct in signing me and I will bring a lot of joy to Real Madrid and football fans during my time here.”
He already has brought much joy to his legions of dedicated fans. We hear many of them attended this event in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the Portuguese pretty boy!
