Jude Law returns to London

After completing a successful run on Broadway, Jude Law has returned home to London. He was spotted doing a little Christmas shopping with his son Rudy Indiana at Bohemia in Primrose Hill this morning.

I’m really looking forward to Christmas Day because Jude’s new film Sherlock Holmes will be released! Robert Downey Jr told Rotten Tomatoes.com in an interview that Jude was his choice for his crime fighting partner Watson.

“We were pursuing Jude, and understandably he was cautiously optimistic. I had a feeling it was kind of a perfect match as all of the females on my team all of a sudden needed to be in the hallway for no reason when he was coming up in the elevator.

“I knew it was going to work out because two seconds after we started sitting down and having a coffee, we were already talking like we were shaping and work shopping everything and anything that was possible with these guys.”

Downey Jr felt Sherlock Holmes is really a film about two people not just his Sherlock himself. He wanted Jude to “share the load.”

He said: “That, to me, was the whole point. The realisation I had was that Holmes and Watson were the first action duo, I thought, ‘Wow, this really is a two-hander.’

“While the script had the relationship there… maybe it was, partially, to share the load, or take off the pressure, but I think more so because it was my first instinct, I said, ‘Well, this is a movie about two guys.”
