Liev Schreiber wishes for more time with children
Maintaining a household, with two major actors in the family is tough work. Liev Schreiber, who is currently on a break from filming movies and is starring in Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge Broadway revival was spotted grabbing a coffee yesterday morning.
He spoke recently with New York’s Time Out Magazine. He opened up about his children with fellow actor Naomi Watts, 2 1/2 year old Alexander and one-year-old Samuel Kai who just celebrated a birthday on December 13th.
“I have kids. It’s kind of amazing, actually: You go through all this stuff in rehearsal and you come home and they don’t give a crap; they just want your full attention. It’s been a total savior. [My two-and-a-half-year-old son] is like, ‘Daddeeeeee!’ and he just wants to play. You dump the baggage right away and reconnect with all these human feelings. It’s such a good hit.”
They asked Liev, alongside his beautiful co-star Scarlett Johansson, who also has a superstar spouse, Ryan Reynolds, if there is ever any envy between partners if one is busier than the other.
No, I think it’s harder when both of you are really busy, said Liev. Like in any profession, it’s difficult. You want to make sure you have time to invest in your family. It’s a challenge but it’s worth it.
Kids make a big difference. You want to be there all the time, and when you’re both working, it’s hard. You gotta negotiate with each other and support each other in that regard.
To catch Liev and ScarJo in this limited engagement performance it begins Monday, December 28, 2009 and the official opening is Sunday, January 24, 2010. It will run for 14 weeks only. For more information and to purchase tickets click here.
