Sherlock Holmes New York premiere

sherlockholmes9

Director Guy Ritchie, Jude Law, Robert Downey Jr., and Rachel McAdams attended the New York premiere of Sherlock Holmes at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on December 17, 2009.

Ritchie walked the red carpet with his son Rocco and a huge smile on his face. I’m sure he is extremely delighted to be reunited with his boy.

I have a feeling this film is going to kill at the box office. It has strong competition with Rob Marshall’s star-filled musical Nine which also opens on Christmas Day. As much as I want to check out Nine, I think the detective and his side kick Watson will be getting my money!

Also at the premiere were Eva Mendes, Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Heming, Ashley Greene, Jessica Szohr, and Blake Lively in a va va va voom black dress!

New Alice In Wonderland trailer revealed!

alice_in_wonderland_johnny_depp_mad_hatter_image_01

Yet another trailer for Tim Burton’s latest masterpiece “Alice In Wonderland” has just recently found its way onto the internet. The film which is slated to hit theaters in March of 2010 contains two of the director’s favorite faces, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. Joining the dynamic duo is Hollywood sweetheart Anne Hathaway and “Back to the Future” star Crispin Glover.

I think it’s safe to say leading man, Johnny Depp has become quite accustomed to the antics of Burton, as well as the feel of make up piled onto his money maker face. The eerie and sometimes sinister roles Depp has become more and more likely to portray may just be outdone by his rendition of the Mad Hatter. Quite frankly I’m a little creeped out just by taking a look at his headshot for the film, but that should indeed make for a much more exciting and on the edge of your seat experience.

The special effects for the film also look absolutely astonishing, and I’m sure we can all agree that when Burton is behind the camera, worlds we never even imagined come to life. Being that my birthday is in March, I believe I’ll treat myself to this cinematic adventure of epic proportions.

Jude Law used to get confused for a girl!

judelawletterman

How is it possible that people used to confuse Jude Law for a girl? Jude, who was born David Law, changed his name when he enrolled with a youth drama group in London in the 1980s.

He says he had to toughen up because people mistook his name for that of a female and it caused lots of confusion.

He says, “(I was) assigned to the girls’ dormitories and sleeping quarters when I was a teenager and I joined the National Youth Music Theatre. Someone took a look at my name and clearly thought, ‘It has to be a girl.’ How wrong can you get?”

I doubt ol’ Jude minded being assigned to the girl dorms!  Plus, on what planet is “Jude” a female name?

If you are in the U.S. you can catch him on The Late Show with David Letterman.  These photos are of his arrival at the Ed Sullivan theater in New York City this afternoon.

Toni Collette receives SAG Award nomination

tonicollette

Australian actress Toni Collette is charming all the right people with her depiction of a suburban housewife with Dissociative identity disorder on the Showtime hit, United States of Tara. She was nominated today for a SAG Award and yesterday for a Golden Globe for the role!

Collette surprised audiences when she took home the Emmy for Best Leading Actress in a Comedy in September winning out against 30 Rock star Tina Fey. Though I love Tina, I felt Toni really deserved it for playing Tara and all four of her alternate personalities.

Find out if she wins the Golden Globe on January 17th and the SAG Awards on January 23rd.

The actress and and husband of six years, Dave Galafassi were seen leaving a doctor’s office in Sydney, Australia on December 17, 2009.

Alex Rodriguez in Miami mending a broken heart?

alexrodriguez

With the recent news of his break-up with Kate Hudson, Alex Rodriguez has found his way back to Miami. The World Series winner was photographed as he departed from Prime One Twelve on Ocean Drive last night.

Honestly though guys, I doubt he is mending any type of broken heart. This type of guy doesn’t use his heart!  He mostly allows an other organ to take the lead.

He is rumored to have been hitting on a group of young ladies while having lunch earlier in the day. What I find the funniest about the situation with Kate though is the “rumored” statement from someone in A-Rod’s camp.
