Happy Heroes Monday!! I’m proud to share with you all some wonderful news about one of your favorite actors on the show. Jimmy Jean-Louis was in Miami on Friday, January 8th to attend the Fifth Annual Haitian Independence Month Ceremony held at the Stephen P. Clark Center in the heart of downtown Miami.
As part of the ceremony, a resolution designating the month of January as Haitian Independence Month in Miami-Dade County was officially presented by members of the Board of County Commissioners. His Excellency Haiti Ambassador to the United States Raymond Alcide Joseph and Haitian superstar Jimmy Jean-Louis received the key to the City of Miami from Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez.
Numerous exhibitors were on hand showcasing Haitian culture arts and crafts. The main exhibit will be displayed throughout the month of January featuring a photographic montage highlighting the History of Haiti with the theme “Honoring our Future by Preserving our Past.”
To visit the exhibit you can head on over to:
The Stephen P. Clark Center

The Haitian Independence Month celebration is one of the Mayor’s Initiatives designed to promote interaction within our cultural society, and to create understanding and appreciation amongst the different traditions in Miami-Dade County.
