It’s a speedy departure for Colin Firth

Awards season sweetheart Colin Firth departed from BBC’s Radio 2 in London this morning. He is currently promoting his new movie A Single Man which will be releasing in the United Kingdom on February 12th.

Colin spoke about being a man of nearly 50 years of age and having to show off his bod in Tom Ford’s directorial debut.

“I pick up the script, and it says ‘Naked man lies on bed.’ And then a few pages in, ‘Naked man jumps in ocean,’ ” Firth recalls. “Well, I thought. It’s time. One more push against gravity before I turn 50 and it’s all downhill.”

I had no idea he was nude for so many parts of the film. I haven’t made it out to watch it yet but if I needed any motivation, this was it!

I have a feeling we will be hearing Firth’s name revealed when Oscar nominations come out next Tuesday.
