Jared Leto kicks it at Katsuya
comment 5 Written by Rosy on February 3, 2010 – 11:10 am

Jared Leto was photographed as he departed from Hollywood hot spot Katsuya last night. He looked pleasantly surprised to bump into his old buddy and daredevil Bam Magera and they locked in an embrace.

In January Leto opened up about the time he and his family lived in Haiti which is rare for him. He prefers to not share many parts of his private life with the public but after the terrible earthquake that devastated Haiti he wanted to share his experience.

When he was 12 years old, Jared moved to Haiti with his older brother and mother; she helped run two medical clinics for about a year before returning to the States.

“It was a magical time,” Leto said. “Could you imagine being a kid in such an exotic place? It was eye-opening. It was a life-changing experience.”

What he remembers most are the people.

“They have such a strong spirit and a wonderful culture and joy even in the midst of all the struggles they have gone through,” Leto said.

Jared and his band 30 Seconds to Mars have been actively raising money for the countries earthquake relief.
