Mommy to be Dannii Minogue was featured on the cover of UK’s Glamour Magazine for the March 2010 edition. The Australia’s Got Talent judge talks about how grateful she is that she is not expecting twins with baby daddy and former England rugby player Kris Smith.
“I don’t know if we’ll find out what we’re having, we haven’t had a chance to think. We know it’s not twins – the doctor said this morning that there’s only one in there and Kris and I both sighed with relief! I’m so tiny, I’m not big enough to fit twins in there – I wouldn’t be able to stand up!”
Despite being happy with her pregnancy, Dannii admits it took “some convincing” about starting a family with Kris because her own parents did such a good job raising their children.
“I have two loving parents who formed a family around me and I have it in my mind that I want it to be like that. I would only do it if I was able to recreate that and up until now, I’ve never been in a relationship where I was 100 per cent confident and had those feelings.
“Kris was ready from the word go and couldn’t wait to start a family. I’ve taken some convincing, but we’ve taken the leap together and it feels right. Kris is The One.”
The 38-year-old who was previously married to actor Julian McMahon – is content in her relationship and is terrified of walking down the aisle again because her divorce affected her so badly.
She said: “Marriage really scares me. I wouldn’t rule it out, but my divorce was really emotional for me. My weight plummeted – I was skeletal and it wasn’t pretty or healthy but I couldn’t control it. When something is wrapped up in all these bad memories, you don’t want to go hurtling back there.”
