George Clooney in Hawaii for The Descendants
George Clooney is currently filming on the set of The Descendants in Hawaii on Friday, March 12, 2010.
How hilarious are the outfits he is wearing for this film? All that is missing are those puffy white sneaker with the velcro closures!! Maybe he is rockin’ them but I can’t really tell in these photos.
The Descendants centers on a wealthy landowner who takes his two daughters on a search for his wife’s lover in the hopes of keeping his family together.” A look at a summary of the source novel, however, reveals more nuance as well as the trademark dark comedy tone Director Alexander Payne is so adept at handling.
Clooney will play the landowner who is descended from a Hawaiian princess and a haole (white person/foreigner). He’s had a life of leisure and is married to a beautiful, adventurous woman, now in a terminal coma after a catamaran accident.
His 10 and 17-year-old daughters are strangers to him, and his relationship with them is awkward at best. He’s also mulling over a business deal that would involve him selling his family land to a real estate developer. As he’s contemplating pulling the plug on his wife, he finds out that she has been having an affair for some time with a real estate broker. He gathers his children (the eldest sent from her boarding school) in search of his wife’s lover.

Wow! Your ignorance is amazing! You’ve obviously never been to Hawai’i, otherwise you would know that his clothing is pretty standard in Hawai’i. Aloha shirts and slacks are the casual tone of Hawai’i…I’m glad it’s so amusing to you but maybe you should realize that it comes off sounding really ignorant from an outsider like you.
My apologies if my comments offended you but the way that I mean it was that this clothing is very untypical for George Clooney. He is always seen dressed to the nines and here he is dressed super casual.
His attire will get him in all but the FANCIEST (and few) restaurants here. Anyone wearing closed-toe shoes, an aloha shirt and slacks is good to go anywhere, from the board room to all but those coupla restaurants. Seriously. Unless he was playing a lawyer here. Some of them dress in suits.
Too Bad. You should have thought about the setting before you made that ignorant comment regarding his clothes.
LoL… I like George’s dressing. To me, it is chic, casual and yet smart and absolutely suitable for the Hawaiian atmosphere. This kind of dressing indicates a rich and laid back person. To me, George looks neat and fresh and like a rich man’s son.
Wow. Just wow, Rosy. I have to agree, this article comes off as extremely ignorant and culturally insensitive, especially for someone who “dreams of traveling the world” like it says in your profile. Maybe Hawai’i should be your next stop so you can expand your apparently limited world view. You wont even need a passport.
The aloha shirt is considered formal wear in Hawai’i, and it is rich in history and culture. Men wear it to weddings and in formal business. I’m sorry you find it so “hilarious”. George totally looks the part of a wealthy landowner, and he is quite handsome in this outfit, IMHO.
I’ve already apologized if it came off the wrong way but George Clooney does not normally dress this way. You rarely ever see him dress down!
I’d love to visit Hawaii anytime.
How about everyone take a chill pill?
The comment wasn’t made to be an insult to Hawaii or the culture or attire, as she’s already clarified.
It was just a statement about the guy wearing ‘em. =]
hilarious!
if anyone thinks this attire is a good look then you need a style lesson!
I am in hawaii right now.. and yes lots of people wear them… but that doesnt mean they look good.
Hi George Clooney:
On the road to ‘Hawaii’, I planted tulips,
Going this route, don’t touch it , it tips;
To the sprouts, I’ve apples clipped,
The name of my dearest: George Clooney on it, is cleaved.
George shines in any clothing.God’s gift to his is luster.
Because George Clooney have a clean and kind heart.
Hi George Clooney:
Let the breeze take my handkerchief by,
Waft it through to my George Clooney, beloved to say hi!
Regards Sarah from a heart devoted ‘d high;
lost to his since toddlers’ days gone by.
Hi.
Where are you George Clooney?
Moonlight is soothing and fine,
But I’m restive, where’s that darling of mine?
Of my endurance, sweetheart’s unaware,
There’s no one to take a message to her, either.

Hi.
Where are you George Clooney?
All the days that I’ve missed my dear,
I’ve been panting around with fear:
As a fish weaving in the seas, far ‘d near,
Or like a gem on a ring, I veer.
Hi George Clooney:
Where are you?
In my sweet dreams, there was my love:
Sitting down humbly, by my side, like a dove,
His hands round my neck, charmingly, to hug
And of my health, he enquired with no brag.
Hi George Clooney:
Where are you?
I seek a moon lit night’ d no more,
To enjoy my beloved’s sight’ d no more,
On his hirsute chest or lap,
To put down my head for a nap.
