My poor baby David Beckham is on the road to recovery. The famous footballer underwent surgery to repair his torn left Achilles tendon which he injured on Sunday while playing in the final minutes for A.C. Milan. Sadly, this injury could keep the midfielder from playing in the World Cup.
He was treated by specialist Dr. Sakari Orava in Turku, Finland who says Beckham had “totally torn” the tendon and would “have to take it easy during the next two to three weeks or a month and then he will continue with a recuperation program slowly.”
Even though he arrived at the Mehilainen hospital and was surrounded by fans, Beckham said nothing. So far all he’s said publicly is the statement he posted on his website.
“I am upset but want to thank everyone for their messages of support,” Beckham said. “I hope to make a swift and full recovery.”
Poor David! He must be devastated. He does still have a bit of time though before the games begin in South Africa on June 11th. We can always hope for a miracle!
