How exciting is it for us Elizabeth Gilbert fans to finally see the trailer for her highly anticipated book-to-big screen adaptation of Eat, Pray, Love?!
The landscape alone is going to motivate so many people to hop on a plane and visit the beautiful countries featured in the film including India, Indonesia and Italy. I know I am extremely jealous of her trip and wish I could do the same thing today!
I applaud the casting director for hiring Julia Roberts to play the role of Gilbert. She embodies the characteristics of Gilbert to the tee.
We also get a sneak peek at the eye candy like James Franco and Javier Bardem! I know Bardem’s casting was not favored by many but I have a feeling an amazing actor such as himself is going to capture your heart.

For those not familiar with the book (go get the book!), the story follows a 32 year old woman who was educated, had a home and a husband, and a successful career as a writer. However, she was not happy; she was depressed with her marriage, often spending the night crying on her bathroom floor.
She divorced her husband and entered into a relationship with another man named David (James Franco), but this relationship did not work out either. She decided that she needed a change. She spent the next year traveling the world. She spent four months in Italy, eating and enjoying life (Eat). She spent four months in India, trying to find her spirituality (Pray). She ended the year in Bali, Indonesia, looking for “balance” of the two, and love (Love).
Eat, Pray Love opens in theaters on August 13, 2010.

The trailer looks good. Why would people be against the casting of Bardem? He is one of the best actors working today. Perhaps they only see him as Chigurh in No Country for Old Men. He is a lot more than that!
From what I hear they don’t see the chemistry between Roberts and Bardem. I agree they might just be thinking of him for his role in No Country for Old Men but I think he will be fantastic in this.
Erin Brockovich is so 2000. Starring in the movie based on the hit book, Julia returns to feel good movies with 2010′s upcoming EAT, PRAY, LOVE. Check out the trailer (and our snarky take on it) here:
