British beauty Kate Winslet hit the streets of New York City to shoot the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce on Sunday, April 18th. I’m lovin’ the way they transform the city to look like its back in the 1940′s!

The show will center around Winslet as Mildred Pierce Beragon, who worked as a waitress to support her family, consisting of her husband Bert, played by Brian F. O’Byrne, and her daughter Veda, played by Evan Rachel Wood, in middle class Los Angeles during the Great Depression.
The five-hour miniseries is an adaptation of James M. Cain’s Depression-era novel Mildred Pierce.

Hi there, Does anyone have pictures of the store front with the hat and shoe collection in it? I was told Kate was going to take a “Help Wanted” sign out of the window. I supplied 30 hats from the early 30′s for the display and would love a picture of the hats in the store window.
Thanks so much! Cheerios, Lora
