David Duchovny and Natascha McElhone shot scenes for their hit show “Californication” in Venice this afternoon. The Showtime series has just started production on its fourth season, with the show’s basis circling the sexual escapades of frustrated writer Hank Moody (played by Duchovny).
The duo are seen smoking a cigarette up against a wall, with McElhone attempting to put jumper cables onto another car.
When was visiting my friend in California last week I stayed in the Venice Beach area. We drove past this very wall on cruiser bikes nearly every day. The first day I arrived there, the cast was shooting on the actual beach but no one really bothers anyone there so you just gotta peddle past.
But I digress…
In other Californication news, it was announced today that Brothers and Sisters star Rob Lowe was joining the cast for one episode.
He’ll play “Eddie Nero, an imbalanced yet charismatic, award-winning movie star who finds himself in contention to play Hank Moody in the film version of [F---ing & Punching].” It’s a one-episode gig that could be expanded.
Lowe has a recurring role on NBC’s Parks & Recreation.
