After spending hours getting into character, Hank Azaria hit the streets of New York City to practice becoming The Smurfs villain Gargamel. He was photographed as he attempted to torment passersby just the same way the real Garg would do if we was roaming the streets of the big city.
Known not only for his work as a regular actor, Azaria voices many characters on the Fox hit The Simpsons.
I still don’t know how I feel about this movie to be quite honest. Other attempts at this type of film like Scooby Doo and Garfield really didn’t do it for me. I’m trying to remain open minded since so many fantastic actors have signed on to voice our beloved little blue people.
Yesterday Neil Patrick Harris shot scenes with his co-star Jayma Mays.
Are you looking forward to this movie?

CGI has come a long way. I’m a film minor and we use some of the equipment Hollywood uses. The cast is near perfect. Katy Perry as Smurfette does not seems like a logical choice to me. If they handle it like “Alice in Wonderland/Avatar” the movie has a chance at bringing in the older adults who remember the smurfs. But Burton, Cameron and Disney pretty much have the movie mapped out in their minds. I think my mother still has my stuffed smurf collection somewhere in the attic.
