Veteran actress Meryl Streep spoke to six hundred graduates during the commencement speech at the 2010 Barnard College graduation held in New York City, New York on Monday, May 17th.
“Awards have little bearing on my own personal well being and happiness.
Being a celebrity has taught me to hide; being an actor has helped me to open my soul. Being here has helped me dig deep to find something to offer you. And you don’t have to do anything except to make your parents proud. And you already have…,” she said in front of approximately 5,000 people.
The Academy Award winning actress took home the Barnard Medal of Distinction for her participation.
Congrats grads!
