Fabio Cannavaro talks game disappointment but looks ahead

It has been four long years since we have seen Italy’s Azzurri perform during the World Cup. While I was quite disappointed in their match against Paraguay, there are definitely strong hopes the boys in blue will pick up some steam as the competition continues.

Team captain Fabio Cannavaro expressed his disappointment in the way his team performed.

“We are not happy with the result,” the 36-year-old stated. “A football team like Italy has to win these kinds of matches.

“Paraguay concentrated on defense, not attack.

“We played well in the second half, but it is not easy to score a goal when you are losing.

“We must do better in our next two games.”

Up next for Italy is a match against New Zealand on June 20th and then they meet with Slovakia on June 24th.
