It looks like Elijah Wood has landed his first starring role in series television!! Deadline.com is announcing The Lord of the Rings and Happy Feet star has been cast in he FX comedy pilot Wilfred, which based on the critically acclaimed Australian series of the same title.
The Australian version of the show featured a woman named Sarah, her dog Wilfred and her boyfriend, Adam. Only Adam saw Sarah’s dog (played by Gann) as a human in a dog costume. Wilfred developed a grudge toward Adam and continuously tested the human.
In the U.S. version, Wood will play the role of “Ryan” and with Gann reprising his role as Wilfred.
I am hoping this show doesn’t go the way of “Kath and Kim.”

Ok, I like Elijah Wood and got excited hearing about him being on tv but the premise of the show is so strange. A guy in a dog costume? I guess we’ll see, but I’ll definitely be checking out the pilot.
