Robert Downey, Jr. was spotted leaving dinner at Nobu, in Malibu, last night. He looks like he’s ready to go sailing, with his boater hat and blue & white cardigan. And, uh, is that a tackle box? Why is he carrying, whatever that is, with him to dinner??
*Apparently the dinner was a family affair. The handsome gentleman with him is none other than his father, Robert Downey, Sr.
On Monday, Michael Lohan was on Nashville radio station 107.5 The River dropping a few names, like our beloved RDJ’s. According to Mr. Lohan, he is friends with Robert, as well as Mark Wahlberg and Tom Sizemore.
He’s hoping these dear friends of his will step in a have a talk with his jailed daughter, Lindsay Lohan. Robert, who spent 16 months behind bars for his own addictions, has rebounded remarkably as one of the hottest celebs in Hollywood. Whether or not the fallen Disney star can do the same… I guess we’ll find out.

Robert is a Naturopath , or he believes in Naturopathic Medicine. Naturopathy is based on taking care of ones body through non-use of pills etc. One only uses the air, light, heat, water, massage, the muscular system, and natural herbs and vitamins to heal themselves. He carries bottles and packets of vitamins and herbs with him wherever he goes and takes them repeatedly. In interviews, he has stated that you have to feed the good dog – not the bad one. People really need to stop making fun about his carrying a bag or the box around. Most ex-drug addicts who recover (recover with the right help and take it seriously) do this and also get into yoga, massage, bodybuilding, karate etc. They keep their bodies healthy. I admire the fact that he does this. He also openly admits his past problems.
As for Lohan, she is not Robert Downey Jr and people need to stop comparing the two. She has no disipline and still hasn’t come to terms with the fact that she has a problem. Spending about 23 days in jail, then going to a rehab center by the beach isn’t going to help her. Again, wrong choices.
I never knew that about Robert (and I call myself a fan??). I did some looking and you are totally correct. It’s mentioned briefly in a great interview he did last year for Men’s Vouge. I certainly don’t make fun of the case/bag, merely extreme curiosity. Which, it turns out, worked, because you came along and solved the mystery for us. Thank you Shelle!
(Oh, and I personally don’t think Lindsay will come close to Robert’s talent and success. But, that’s just my opinion. For her sake, I hope she does turn things around.)
