Behind the Scenes: Red Riding Hood

Lots of behind the scenes pictures from Red Riding Hood, filming in Vancouver, BC. The costumes look like lots of fun, especially that elaborate purple number on Gary Oldman.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke seems to have a knack for the fantasy genre. In this film, her first since Twilight, she’s directing an ensemble cast which includes: Amanda Seyfield, Gary Oldman, Michael Shanks, Lukas Haas, Virginia Madsen, Julie Christie and even one of her Twilight comrades, Billy Burke.

Scarlett Johansson is Gravitating Toward Robert Downey Jr

Scarlett Johansson may in fact be teaming up with her Iron Man 2 co-star, Robert Downey Jr, for a new sci-fi thriller. Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity was said to be starting Robert Downey Jr and Angelina Jolie, but Angie has had to back out of the filming and Scarlett is taking her place. The film is set in space and follows the journey of two astronauts (Downey & Johansson) trying to make it back home to Earth after debris from a Russian satellite destroyed their ship, with coworkers still inside.

A Toast to West Hollywood’s Hot Lunch Spot

If you find yourself looking for lunch in West Hollywood, may I suggest stopping in Toast for lunch? That’s where not one, but two Hollywood hotties grabbed a bite to eat yesterday.

Halle Berry first stopped in with a few pals. She managed to be fully dressed, and yet still show off sexy amounts of skin in her denim short-shorts and strategically buttoned denim top. Perhaps they were out celebrating the announcement that she will be staring in the lead role of a new film, Shoe Addicts Anonymous. The movie will be based on the book by Beth Harbison and center around 4 ethnically diverse women in Chicago who, surprise, are addicted to buying shoes! Luckily, all four ladies happen to wear the same size.

Eva Longoria Parker also grabbed some grub at Toast. She looked lovely in her blue and white floral dress. Eva even took the time to say hello to some folks, including a four-legged cutie.

Shakira is Pretty Sexy in Pink

Rosy loves Shakira and I’m sure you all do too. So of course, I have to make sure to keep track of her while Rosy is out. Tiny as she is, Shakira can be tough to spot, but she was kind enough to sport a neon pink bikini/skirt combo at a photo shoot in Ibiza yesterday. Even in those tall grasses, she was easy to find.

Sneaky Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr Got Married!

Did you get your invitation? I didn’t get mine… Surely there was a mix up. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr wouldn’t tie the not without telling us BEFORE hand, would they??

They did! The couple started dating back in 2007, and told ET last June when they got engaged. We all knew it was coming, but the actor/model couple managed to elude the media until after the event. Kerr is the face of David Jones, an Australian department store. The company was kind enough to release her from her ambassadorship to enjoy a leisurely honeymoon with the new hubby.

After a run of huge blockbusters like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films, Troy, and several others, the groom seems to be taking this slower. Blood does have several festival movies out like Symphathy for Delicioius and Main Street.

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise Premiere Knight and Day in London

It was a lovely day in London today when Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise hit the red carpet to premiere their new action flick Knight and Day. They’ve been on a mini-whirlwind tour promoting the film.

Just yesterday they were at the Munich premiere of the film. This coming Sunday, the two stars will appear on British auto-show Top Gear. They will race to be the fastest to complete a lap around a circuit  in a segment called “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.” Kind of reminds me of the segment Jay Leno did where stars raced around his track in an electric car. (Anyone know who ended up winning that?)

Brad Pitt Joins the Undead

During a Comic-Con signing today, author Max Brooks said that Brad Pitt will officially be staring in World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. Personally, I hope he is going to be playing a zombie. How cool would that be? But, the A-Listers are always fighting the zombies, never playing them…

Plan B Entertainment bought the rights to World War Z a while back, but no details were ever released on what they would be doing with the piece. In addition to the one optioned by Pitt’s Plan B, Paramount has optioned two other books by Brooks: The Zombie Survival Guide and The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks. Zombies are totally the new vampire. (But, I hope no one takes that to mean True Blood should be going anywhere, what would we do without Eric and Alcide??)
