The one sheet for Academy Award nominated director Julie Taymor’s The Tempest has been released by Touchstone Pictures. In it, we get a glimpse of even more characters from the film.
Based on an adaptation of Shakespeare’s play, the film recounts the saga of sorcerer Prospero, who’s gender has been changed for the film and is actually a sorceress named Prospera played by Oscar winner Helen Mirren.
Per the film’s press release:
Prospera’s journey spirals through vengeance to forgiveness as she reigns over a magical island, cares for her young daughter, Miranda, and unleashes her powers against shipwrecked enemies in this exciting, masterly mix of romance, tragicomedy and the supernatural.
The film will also feature Russell Brand, Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming, Djimon Hounsou, Felicity Jones and Alfred Molina. It has been selected as the centerpiece film for this year’s New York Film Festival which takes place on October 2.
The film will be released right before the rush of holiday movies on December 10th.
