John Lithgow honored with Creative Arts Emmy for Dexter!

No one deserved to take home the award for “Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series” more than John Lithgow! Seeing his portrayal of Arthur Mitchell, a.k.a., The Trinity Killer during the fourth season of the Showtime hit Dexter was chilling yet awe-inspiring.

Here is what Mr. Lithgow had to say about playing the serial killer who tried to balance normal family life with his own “dark passenger.”

“The whole experience was very intense and extraordinarily creative and ironically enough amazingly fun. It was so different from what anyone expected me to do.”

Showtime’s accolades didn’t end there. For the third time in these categories, the network garnered award wins for Outstanding Cinematography, Costumes and Main Title Theme Music. Michael Trim received the award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Half-Hour Series for WEEDS for the episode titled “A Modest Proposal.”

Joan Bergin and Susan Cave received the award for Outstanding Costumes for a Series for The Tudors, episode 408. Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman were honored for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for the Emmy®-nominated comedy series Nurse Jackie.

In a network first, Tom Conroy, Colman Corish and Crispian Sallis received the award for Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series for The Tudors, episodes 407 and 408 beating out FOX’s Glee, NBC’s Heroes, ABC’s Lost and Modern Family, and HBO’s True Blood!
