In her first live interview since her widely publicized “overdose”, Fantasia Barrino appeared on Good Morning America to share her side of the story and to perform a couple of songs.
She sat down with Robin Roberts to give insight into what her life has been like recently. She shared how exactly attempting suicide (with baby aspirin) became a viable option for someone who was living what most of us saw as a truly inspiring, real life rags-to-riches story. Fantasia cites foreclosure, being dumped by The Color Purple stage production, problems with her dad, etc, as contributing factors to her ongoing despair.
Funny thing is, she doesn’t even seem slightly upset with the person who did that to her hair this morning. But I digress.
She appears to be making a pretty strong comeback right now. On the heels of the release of her highly anticipated album, Back To Me, the second season of her reality show Fantasia For Real 2 airs tonight on VH1 at 9pm.
