It’s that time, ladies and gentlemen…time to get everyone caught up on the latest casting news! Lets get things started with a couple of guys who make my heart beat a little faster, and not just due to their powerful acting skills.
First, Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ, Count of Monte Cristo) has joined the cast of Transit. Executive produced by Joel Silver, the film centers on a group of on-the-run bank robbers who stash their loot in a suburban family’s SUV. The head of this family is played by none other than the nice-on-the-eyes Caviezel. And one of the bank robbers is played by James Frain (True Blood), who will also be starring in the highly anticipated, 3D high tech adventure Tron: Legacy which will be released December 17, 2010.
Next up, I engage my penchant for cheesy horror movies by excitedly sharing that both Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) have been added to the cast of Scream 4! I actually screamed when I heard this…in a good way. I have watched the Scream trilogy more times than I care to disclose, and now it’s becoming, as Ben Stiller would say, “a quadruplogy”. 
Stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox-Arquette, and David Arquette reprise their beloved roles, and I can barely sit still waiting for this one. Although I can’t help but wonder if Paquin and Bell will go the way of Drew Barrymore and Jada Pinkett before the opening credits are even finished rolling. Let’s keep and eye out for the movie posters for clues!
And just today, it was revealed that Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) will be joining the cast of Mission: Impossible 4! We learned a month ago that Tom Cruise was slated to return as Ethan Hunt, which was great to hear. I think the addition of Renner will bolster excitement for the fourth installment, being produced by returning producer JJ Abrams.
