Almost a year ago, after watching Paranormal Activity, I prayed that there would be a sequel. Now that my prayers have been answered, and the first image is available for the sequel, Paranormal Activity 2, I can proceed with my cartwheels and back flips in unconstrained excitement!
I’m being facetious, actually. No need for cartwheels…the image that was released is actually a screenshot of a scene already made available to us in the trailer. So we aren’t getting anything that we haven’t already seen. But, the more I think about it, I realize that I’m a little relieved that we weren’t given any brand new images. This means we have NO idea what to expect, which I think is a great thing for a horror sequel.
Paranormal Activity 2 appears to take place in the same house where we watched the adorable, yet naive couple Katie and Micah gradually become COMPLETELY scared out of their wits, to put it mildly. Me? I am just now getting back to the point where I can sleep at night with the lights off. Almost. Also, that clock in the lower right corner of the image gives me the creeps. If you watched the prequel, you know why.
Paranormal Activity 2 will be released in theaters Friday, October 22. Watch the previously released trailer below for a brief glimpse into how and why you will be scared crapless in October.
