In the midst of all of the events taking place today, we should also remember that 5 years ago, tens of thousands of people experienced devastation that can’t be measured. Sandra Bullock has definitely not forgotten.
Today marks the 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and the lovely, altruistic Sandy spent this morning at the Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans, a school she helped rebuild after the disaster. She visited this morning to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the unveiling of an on-campus health facility at the school.
“I have seen nothing but unimaginable kindness, perseverance and hope right in this room here,” said Bullock. “It gives me great pleasure to be in the company of these people who have actually made the difference. They did the hard work, they are here sitting before you.”
It’s wonderful to see Sandra continuing to not only persevere, but to have such a heart for others. She has really given of herself to New Orleans. In fact, her newly adopted, adorable son, Louis, was born in New Orleans, and Sandra is now a part time resident of the city which is still recovering.
