Joss Whedon (a long time idol of mine, I admit this with absolutely nothing but pride) is in Australia currently to deliver talks at both the Melbourne and Sydney International Writer’s Festivals. The writer/director/all-round legend was a key note speaker at the Melbourne event on Friday (he’ll give another address at the Opera House come Sunday) and spoke at length about his fascination with outsider heroes, strong women, and the uses and abuses of power.
