Rutina Wesley meets with “True Blood” fans in Chicago

It was a busy Labor Day weekend for many True Blood stars. Actress Rutina Wesley who plays vampire hater and best friend to protagonist Sookie Stackhouse, Tara Thorton, attended the RCN “True Blood” Bash held at John Barleycorn Wrigleyville on Monday, September 6th, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois.

Ahead of her trip, Rutina spoke to a local paper and said how excited she was to return to the Windy City.

“I can’t wait to reacquaint myself with Chicago,” the actress said. “And I can’t wait to get in touch with fans of the show who have been so, so supportive.”

Wesley opened up about her character’s experience with the psychotic vampire Franklin this season. (is anyone else saddened by the departure of James Frain?)

“It’s the kind of meaty stuff all actors love,” she says of the torture her character had to endure on the show. “It was challenging, though, because it was so difficult to have that emotional ride and then come home and leave it all behind.”

It will definitely feel like an eternity before we get to see anything pertaining to season four of the HBO hit vampire drama, but the actress did share what she hopes will await Tara in the future.

“I can tell you where I would like to see her go next season,” she offers. “It would be nice to see her have a bit more stability in her life and find a way to get back to that strong, passionate person she was at the beginning.”

Season three reaches a boiling conclusion, Sunday, September 12th on HBO.
